Hendry's Rex William had a maple shaft. Your one in the photo is Ash.

hi what means rex williams splicing? is it the look on butt end?

It's not "Rex Williams splicing", it's a Powerglide Connoisseur which has Rex Williams's signature on the cue. The splicing is ebony, maple and rosewood, which are the woods on the butt. If you look closely at the shaft of the cue just above the splicing you'll see Rex Williams's signature.

Hope this makes things clearer for you.

because as you know, no two same cues play alike, and think he didnt want same cue as he would be comparing it to his lost cue. so he started afresh

I guess it would be a distraction, but he does swap and change his cue a lot, wish he could find "the One" again. I was thinking maybe if he had the same make of cue he had when he was winning tourneys it could be psychologically good for him. I Just want him to play well and enjoy his snooker again!! sigh.
