Hi Viktor,
The tips out there at the moment ain't that great, Elks and Blue diamonds.
Its a bit of hit or miss if you find a good one or not!
I've been playing with one (super tip) on and off for a year now and I'm always going back to it now.
So I'd say that it is the best tip out at the moment.
Hope that helps!

I now use the super tip and I love it plays like its been on your cue for months from the first hit, :) I will never go back to the Elkmaster tip you never know if you got a good one :(

Same here i would never use another tip now i have used a wooly super tip they are superb and highly consistent, before these i would re-tip my cue and need a week to get use to the 'feel' of it, now i can re-tip my cue just before i go down the club on a friday and i know how its going to be, brilliant!

The supertip is more expensive than Blue Diamond and Elkmaster, but is it worth the extra money? You get what you pay for?

I would say well worth it, confidence in your tip working from the start and not deforming, splitting etc is well worth the extra cost ;)

Could you please tell me if mike's cue tips are hard or soft? I'm gonna try them, but postage wilt cost several times more than cue tips. Actually I like a bit softer than a medium.
thanks

on the soft side - postage should not be too expensive?

Sure it is :) But we don't have a choice. We'll try to order more at once, so it'll reduce a pcs price. So why I'd like to know if it more soft than hard. You can compare to blue diamond or moori, i really know what are they. Thx

I use Mike's laminated tips for pool. Used Mike's pressed tips before which are fantastic but too soft for me. His laminated tips last forever and are well worth the extra.

Woolridge super tips are the best pressed tips.Very less throw and deviation on the cueball.I tend to hit across the ball sometimes and these tips have helped me a lot in my game in accurate striking. They are slightly expensive for a pressed tip but they are worth it.

Does anyone know if the super tip is the tip that Mike Wooldridge puts on his custom cues?

I have just bought my second packet of pressed Supertips last week and look forward to getting them. My first pack didnt last too long as i sold/gave 3 of them to friends who wanted to try them out... this pack I will keep to myself :)

They last aaages :) It's a good idea to give away some so you can use the fresh ones ;)

Mike... what's the difference between yours and Talisman laminated (which I just put on one of your cues as a test)?

No more hunting for soft elks then khizzy? (it was you that said you liked a really soft elk or am i going mad? I've slept since then so its quite possible i forgot ;))

yes i used to play with soft elks, but i really liked the feel of the single layered super tip its not too soft nor too hard its just right.

its better to spend your money on a super tip rather than keep changing elks till you like one,i think it'll be cheaper to get a super tip than change 3-4 elks.

I worked it out once, and (assuming buying elks in bulk) i think you need to change your tip quite a few times before elks cost more than mikes tips, but it all depends on how picky you are. I always think once you know how to tell a "good" elk (fingernail etc.) your set, whereas mikes tips, while admittedly consistant, will always cost you the same ammount. But im not that picky with my choice of tip.
But on the other hand theres a lot of people happy with mikes tips and especially changing tips mid tournament, you dont want to end up playing with a bad tip on.

Just an update on this, I played the mate I mentioned here monday and tuesday night, I wish i'd never changed his tip now, he seems to be playing better than ever.:(:D

Used to be about £2.50 if i remember rightly. Can only get pack of 5 now. Worth it though as last a long time and outperform most.

I fitted my first tip today and it was a MW Super Tip. It plays perfect and is well worth the money.
I cant see the point in putting a cheap tip on a £500 cue.
I' looking forward to playing with it properly next week.

I have just put a mw supertip on my cue and it seems to keep its shape much better than blue diamonds or elks well worth the extra money in my book.

Jim I did the same...
Glad I did.
I was replacing a Talisman M which was very good, as a test.
The MW tip is just hard enough to last yet still responsive.
My friend put a blue diamond soaked in milk then compressed in a vise (Milk Dud) on his cue and we tested them both... the Dud feels like a sponge rubber ball by comparison.
MW Supertip is ... SUPER!
