yes I was thinking about posting those two, but since they're only about snooker table production I thought I should just get straight to the point and skip those two

I watched all of the coaching videos available on youtube, and i must say that i liked most Terry Griffiths coaching lessons. Jack Karnehm was ok, but he was "all arround the place" with his concept. I didn't like Ray Reardon's coaching videos because of his different stance and cue action.

Personally I prefer Terry Griffith aswell. I have some more coaching series that I've found, I'll post the links this afternoon

Anyone watched "the positive touch" with the matchroom boys? Watched it today for the first time in years and it still very good. Covers all the different techniques used in the game and i would highly recommend it if you can manage to get it anywhere.

I think they were taken down fairly recently. I stumbled across Jack Karnehm's series a few weeks ago and meant to watch but didn't get around to it yet. Now it's too late.

Probably not. Especially if it's from the UK...the import taxes and shipping costs usually add up to more than the item. Learned that the hard way. lol
I've got lots of material to study but I get a kick out of the old personalities.

And jack was certainly one of them. He was a very good coach IMO & coached Steve Davis in his early years as a player.

Well im up to part 7 at the moment and ive just posted a thread in the coaching section and so far they are very educational and a gret watch. Dunno about you spike but im finding that with most videos I watch that buzz I used to get when I was really learning the game isnt there anymore.
I know we all always learn in this game but when I watch these videos now im a bit sort of..yeah yeah..yeah yeah thats obvious. Like a victor meldrew on my sofa watching them lol.
Although to be fair I got home from my club at 3am and I havent slept yet and feeling a bit tired now.

^ I haven't watched them yet but I did skim through the different episodes just to get a feel.
The last 3 parts include a game between Davis and Taylor with voice-overs. That looks hilarious.

It's a good insight as to how a player thinks in certain situations during a frame. I like they way Taylor calls Davis a jammy sod when Davis flukes a snooker behind the yellow.

Spike I've got the Absolute Snooker DVD with Jimmy and Alan.
Overall I would say its a good dvd, with some nice points on practice routines and the footage of jimmy's 155 and the frame between the two of them is worth the price of the dvd alone.
If I had one minor gripe about the dvd though it would be this:
When you compare the instructional content on the basics of the game with the likes of the davis, griffiths & Karnehm series it comes up slightly lacking.
All the points are touched on, the grip, the bridge, the stance, pre-shot routine etc but I dont think there explained as well as perhaps they could have been. If you've seen all the other snooker coaching resources and know what your doing round the table you'll be able to follow everything their saying. However, if you were a total beginner (which i know your not) then you wouldn't get as much out of these dvds as you would some of the others on the market.
Overall though a good dvd to have in the collection

Yes its a great watch although when I first watched it I thought Jimmy and Alan was a really strane partnership for the coaching aspect.

I always thought it was an unusual partnership with those two doing an instructional DVD themselves.

It is quite a good DVD. Not necessarily the best in the coaching side of it but interesting to see them play each other and talk about their games etc. Overall, a good DVD.

Or, you could download it using clipnabber.com, and burn it to DVD. That's probably what the guy at www.snooker-dvds.com does.
