Forum upgrade

I have upgraded the forum to the latest version, there are a few things not working at the moment and I am going through them all at the moment to bring them back online.

There are lots of new features in this upgrade, some of which I have disabled at the moment but will be turning them on one by one over the next week or so.

If you are having any major problems then please let em know in this thread.

You have quiet a lot of faith in your posters, ferret if you believe they will tag properly given how much thought is spent on creating thread titles. ;)

I don't like the new profile look, if you clicked on a user's name it came onto their profile, I don't like the new look for that. Change is good but it wasn't broken, so why fix it?

on a few profiles there´s still the link " find all threads started by xyz" and "find all posts by xyz" but not on all. Can i disable/enable it somehow?

I might contribute, too. The only thing I fear is that by excluding mods (which we have to do ;)) we'll be left with noone for the award. :D

Oh, there is an another new feature.

Well, except text colours. No wonder noel isn't posting today as much as he's used to.

stages:
1. post the message
2. go to "edit post"
3. choose the color you want
4. save it

Wouldn't it be more useful if all and not just the 2 most used tags were shown by default? :)

Edit: Well, it shows differently in this thread, so I guess it best to ignore my last post. :o
Edit2: It's the 10 most used tags now. I still believe showing all is better.
Edit3: 3 edits, wow! Unless a mod made a change in the settings, it looks to be changing automatically. Which brings us back to the ignore part :D.

I can not see a problem in the settings of the usergroup you are in so you should there for be able to see the home page. If you can not then I don't know what the problem is.

Kev - VBA CMPS permissions need setting separately, but you've got to edit each module rather than using the quick permissions editor (it'll scramble CMPS permissions if you try to use it, I think it's just a broken form)

Is there gonna be a new cool feature to go with the "Tournaments joined/won" thing in the poster's info next to a message? Because I can't edit it via profile options.

I am testing a new feature at the moment but so far its not looking good :mad:

Gonna wait till Rob has a spare few minutes to test it out with me before I decide if it will be open to everybody to use.

It is basically a system where I have set up all of this years players on the main tour and when a competition comes along you choose which player you think will win that competition and join their team.

Players get point depending on when they have been knocked out of the comp via the Elo rating system.

There is a slight problem which I can not get over, so at this point it is 50/50 as to if it will be a future feature.

Anew one you may likeis the Add Thread To Favorites you can find this option at the top of every thread in the thread options menu.

Your favorites will be located in your user control panel at the bottom of the page, you can also favorite specific posts and users but I have not turned those features on.

It sounds like a good idea. Is the problem that you are having due to the fact that if you post via the 'quick reply' button that the Tournaments Joined and Tournaments Won thing doesn't show up on the post?

It'll show up as soon as you press refresh or come back to the thread. It's purely a cosmetic thing due to the fact that when your quick reply appears it doesn't properly load the page (it also won't show any new replies that have come up while you've been writing). It's not something we can easily do anything about but it's pretty minor glitch IMO.
