Hi Guys, just to let you know I had a call today from Peter Jones (Joint MD) of Blade Interactive and they are looking into all the issues that I relayed to them from this site and other forums in respect of WSC Real 09. They are not aware of any problem with online play and obviously with the release only being Friday they were only back in the office today so are working hard to investigate the issues we raised.
The main things we pointed out were the online play and disconnect issue. Even in DMZ mode this doesn't seem to work although that could be due to the opponent's router settings.
We also mentioned the inability to set aiming aids off online, but apparently it is possible to see if the opponent is using aids, which mean this could be agreed beforehand and if an opponnent didn't comply the game could be quit/stopped.
As Peter pointed out, Blade want this game to be a success, therefore they want to get to the bottom of any issues asap. We have been promised an update if any cause is found for the disruption to online play and will update if necessary in this forum (unless Blade do this themselves), which will hopefully happen very soon.
As for the website, Blade are working on restoring this and were not aware there was any issue with the website until our email today.
I hope this restores some faith in you all that Blade are keen to work with us all to make this game as enjoyable as it should be.
Best wishes
Hayz

blade are very good and respond promt to emails. people may jump in ffet first when they don't hear something, but at least they bother to respond to pm and always look into things. give them a chance and i'm sure they will produce the goods through views, etc.
keep up the good work blade!!!!!!!!!!!

For all those experiencing problems with disconnectionplease make sure follwing ports are forwarded on your router:
Playstation Network Required Ports
TCP 80
TCP 443
TCP 5223
UDP 3478
UDP 3479
UDP 3658
ALso, if you still have problems then make sure you forward the ports required for Fifia 09 and this should do the trick ;)

Ask them if they had noticed that the commentary hadn't changed since last version, the player animations and cue animations that are borked too.
I cannot believe how understanding you guys are. A games company with a major release and they wait till till after the weekend to realise that the online functions aren't working!? Testing? What? Then the website issue.... How can a large company not realise one its main forms of marketing (it's website) is down until 48 hours later. LOL. Amazing!
I'll eat my copy of the game if they release a patch to fix issues.
Sorry guys if I'm sounding like a troll but Blade IMO deserve it.

To start with your question about the commentary: Isn't that a silly question? Of course they know :D
About the rest of your post: I think you will get a hard time; Those copies are very hard to digest ;)

Maybe it is a good idea to make some sort of TODO-list of things to do for Blade.
I start with points that I remember; maybe you guys can add what I forgot.
Remember: This is about fixes, NOT a wish list for additions!
- Save-function not working properly: After autosave and restart you can stop and resume the game, but the score is 0-0 instead of 1-1 for instance.
- On-line disconnects very soon
- The cushions seem to slow down the balls far too much. See the break-off shot after one minute in this gameplay-movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXrjf5Yd9cg
- Follow through animation almost non-existent ( maybe hard to fix in a patch ).

seems a little strange, the wii version save work fine. after autosave at any frame score and reset, the frames remain the same.
don't know why not on others.
seems the wii got a little more treatment like i always thought!

can i just add that you dont need to put these ports into your router if you have the upnp option in your router as this opens ports automaticaly, but if you have'nt got the upnp option then yeah do what hayz says, put the above ports in your router.

Mine is strange...sometimes it saves the Frame scores ie 3-5 other times it just resets them.
This morning...i played a frame...won it...played mass effect...played another..was still there lost it to make it 1-1...played something else then when i came back it was 0-0

Xbox360....seems to work fine although one 3frame match doesnt say much but there aint many people on live playing it, but when i look at leaderboards it shows a fair few people on it so it seems ok.

Why doesn't he take five minutes out of his schedule and post on here to reassure us? It's not difficult is it.

Im not surprised at all really whats he gonna say 'sorry we made a truely crap game, we shall get right on with fixing it'
Does anyone know if any actual snooker players were involved in making it? Some simple play testing would of shown it wasnt right for release, when your starting a match and its comparing you to your opposition, i cant see my world ranking due to the background being red and i assume the writing is red, little stupid mistakes like that for starters without even touching gameplay, if they canne do that then how can one expect a half decent game

well blade would no doubt get more respect if they just "held up there hands" and at least make some kind of comment at the very least to reassure the consumer that they are looking into the problems that have been put to them.
i doubt if there was any input from the pros, as if there were i'm sure we would've seen a much more rounded game.

i agree, i would have infinite more respect if they at atleast made some sort of comment but alas they have not. I think its past the point now were folk would be reassured if they were just looking into the problems, they need to do something quick, the PS3 players still canne play online i think, at its most basic, they sold something that doesnt really work lol

What's wrong with that? They would be respected for it, but I think the guy was here to read about the problems, which is a sign that they want to fix things.

I don't know. Virtual pool and it's predecessors were actually helped by pro-pool and snooker players and it shows. The ball physics of that game are close to perfect. In particular in the ball physics department there is quite some room for improvement in WSC REAL. In particular the cushions take far to much out of the speed of the balls. In general the balls loose speed too fast.
As example for what's wrong: If you are half ball angle from the blue ( on its spot ) and you want the white to travel off the blue, via the baulk-side to the other side of the table you have to hit far too hard, OR you must apply top-spin, in which case the ball travels a longer distance. I find it funny ( and not correct ) that the ball travels so much further after applying topspin.
Okay, a bit futher is okay but not that much.

You mean apart from in the adverts huh? Because that's where you really need the input from professionals, eh Blade?
Edit: I have a message to the MD of Blade: Get Archer McLean onboard to program the next game, for the sake of this series' future.

Not if you return it without opening it, or if it hasn't left yet, you can cancel it.
