View Full Version : WSC 10 different to WSC 09?

What would you like different from WSC 09 to WSC 10?

Feel free to share your opinions.

In my opinion what I would like different is for the computer not to take on shots that you would never dream of doing in the real life table.

More cues, there isn't very many only about 10.

More commentary and actually proper commentary not the same stuff repeated and the commentators already saying stuff when half of the time what there say isn't even true or doesn't happened.

Anybody feel with me or want more than that?

I would like to see the players don't behave so stupid. E.g. they need fouls and pot a red + have position on a coulor but they try to snooker me on the coulor so they need like 7 points more.
+ better commentators (or at least more phrases, it's worse than FIFA 2004 German Edition).

No unfortunately it is not out yet.

Yeah there make some stupid comments!

My worst example was the white ball in the baulk, straight on the brown bottom right pocket to follow through slightly to go for a red in the middle left pocket and the commentator goes ''it looks like the black he is playing here" or something along those lines, I was laughing after that, so stupid.

I badly want more cues, half of them ain't even true cues and there should be different ones for the pool mode also.

not to sure to be fair just hope there not to far behind with it cause there was no 08 and 09 basically was that, i want alot more changes in 10 less aiming aids to its annoying that people go for shots you just wouldnt go far and clear up

I find the commentary can be a little deceiving sometimes as well, especially when John Virgo says 'well the obvious shot is to pot the red near the pink spot' when in fact there is more often than not a far easier red to play for on the table at that particular time. It's a good job I don't listen to the commentary team as I'd probably lose every game if I listened to their advice, lol.

i have finally managed to qualify for the world championship but found that when i was using the overhead view, that half the table was blacked out! so you had to play all your shots from the main angle. does everyone have this problem and if so it is really stupid!!

I've kind of lost patience with this game recently after going through the most ridiculous loses I've ever had in the game. For instance I got beat in a qualifyer by a ranked 89 player who ended up clearing the table, scoring a century break and nearly getting a 147. Each and every shot the player was playing was potted with ease, yet some shots where nigh on impossible to pot, such as a long red from the baulk area. You could understand the odd one of these kind of shots being a success, but certainly not 4 successive shots after another!

This really peeved me off as this would never happen in real life, especially someone as poorly ranked as 89

So not played this game since last Friday night. Will be playing it again sometime this week as I'm starting to miss it a little, but you're right in saying this game can be extremley unrealistic in terms of shot selection and positional play. If real players could pot and get position as well as some of them do in WCS Real 09, then the snooker world would gain a huge new audience.

I also love Forza 3, such a great game :)

I had a session on WCS Real 09 last night and won 2 matches on the trot, so the break away from the game seems to have done me some good :D

Yeah it's now looking increasingly likely the next Snooker game won't be released until 2011. It kind of makes sense though as most of the previous snooker games for the consoles have been released on a two yearly basis. Unless something is announced soon, a 2011 release for the next game is very likely.

There can surely be some things changed in the next WSC game:

1. Option to change the aiming aid difficulty (easy - normal - hard) and not just on/off like now

2. Option to choose frame lenght matches by each tournament round in a sort of set-up menu in championship mode, and not only in practise mode so you can tune your career as realistic like the World Snooker real life tournaments

3. Possibility to choose your referee (Jan Verhaas, Michaela Tabb etc...)

4. Top-16 ranked players should not be playing a qualifying round! (who invented this in WSC Real for god sake?)

5. Option to save your progress after each frame played in championship mode. When you quit you loose your progress in WSC Real 09!

6. Referee voice should be separated from those of the commentators. When you turn the commentory off you also don't hear the referee calling your points.

7. You have to start your career as a newbee bottom ranked 96 player and not immediately as a ranked 52 player!

I know, perhaps too much to change at instance. But isn't it the purpose to produce a real authentic snooker sim? Let's hope for the best.
But overall WSC Real 09 is fun anyhow for the snooker fan!

I think those are very sensible suggestions. I think you shouls also be able to create your own custom tournaments as in previous versions.

My other complaint is the seeding is rubbish. I recently played in the 1st round of the UK (I am ranked No2) and played O'Sullivan ranked No1!!!

Whoever has programmed this game has little or no idea of snooker.
Also I was playing Steve Davis in the Welsh Open and HE was commentating too! Crikey, even the Hurricane, Whirlwind and Rocket couldn't move THAT quick between table and commentry box:D

I would like more access to computer players on games such as Bar Billiards which I enjoy immensely but find it so frustrating that I always have to play against myself when there is no one else about???

Also the odd "kick" as in real snooker would not go amiss?

Played 2009 to death - please release an "improved" 2010

Hehe, don't think so either, 09 was the worst version ever. And their costumer support sucks big time.
Never got an answer to the emails i sent them.

When u are on ps3, check out Hustle Kings.
Cheaper, better and snooker dlc coming soon.
And a lively online play with great costumer support.

Some decent mouse control for PC won't go amiss.

Much improved graphics on players - spoils the game when the table graphics work so well yet the surroundings and players look like something from 2002.

It's a nice idea, but there could be licensing issues.

I would like to see different referees as well as some better player introductions and not the mundane un-enthusiastic tone of the present announcer. Poor Ding does't even get his name mentioned.

The other issue I have is a little more reality with the AI players, in the current season I am playing, both Gerrard Greene and Joe Swail are in the top 6, while Carter and Robertson are not even in the top 25 which I find a bit stupid if not totally unbeleivable.

Going back to this current release, it would have been nice had Blade had the courtesy to release an update patch with some of the breakthrough players in there, but they have been so poor and unresponsive o their customers, almost bordering on thre point of arrogant pig ignorance, alright to put it bluntly they are prize prats who could not run one in their own brewery, that in all honesty I hope they don't get the licence to even think about a new version, let alone release one.

Terrible game. Probably nothing good to say about it at all. It looks like some shots are taken by a man with one arm. All you see is a cue.

When you stat the game, you come barging through the doors like Bodie and Doyle. I'd like a choice if i wanted to use the spider. Some shots look like you are scruntched up and your hand is attached to your elbow.

It's just too easy. you can pot balls of the lamp shades with that ridiculous aiming guide. Your opponent can't sit still and stands up all the time. Commentators going on about the same thing. You miss a pot and it's a ''bad safety.''

So many problems with it and if the same company make the next one, yu will get the same stupid errors.

In total agreement with you. Have you also noticed how the cue sometimes vanishes altogether when potting!!

The commentry is terrible, I have had Steve Davis claiming that i have "Got the position biut blew the pot" when making a good safety shot and the crowd reactions are are pathetic with a mixture of disappointed "oohs" followed by applause on some shots - it's almost patronising and give you the impression that people who play the game are cretins who won't know the difference.
All around it's a terrible game released by a poor company who despite what looked liked over 12 months of dithering and constantly pushing back the release date still somehow managed to make a complete b*lls up of it all.

Very true, StewPot.

There is always something else to remember that is rdiculous. You can pot a ball 11 foot away and screw back with more power than what you originally hit the White with. Geoff Capes wouldn't have that power.

I was playing it yesterday and was on a break of around 85. Potted a red and my character stood there clenching his fist.

It should be such an easy game to make as well. You just need to ask a few people who know what they are talking about and listen to what they say.

It would be so easy to recruit a couple of ex pros to give advice or even get involved in the AI structure, even EA Sports have used real golfers in the past for their TW series. I find the 'clenched fist' to be annoying and totally pointless, unless you have just potted a frame/game clinching ball.

The power is totally beyond anything even close to realistic, I don't think Geoff Capes would have that power even with a couple of rocket boosters on his cue.
