Is there any rules for entry on this Pro-am. Do you have to live in Kent or have a certain membership or something?

No you do not have to live in Kent to enter, and i dont think you have to be a member either.

The club is only 7 miles or so from where i live, so i may decide to enter the comp myself, even though i'm playing dreadful at present..

whats each round the best of and is there any dress code

Printdevil@hotmail.com
28th February 2010, 02:19 AM
The preferred dress code is smart casual, no tie or waistcoat required. It's really down to the club to advise but we prefer clean shirt, trousers and shoes as opposed to football shirts, jeans and trainers.

In the main competition the rounds are best of 5 whilst the plate competition for first match losers is best of 3.

I've put my entry in, I'm looking forward to meeting some of the guys from the forum. Don't know how to go about it, can't just keep asking people are you a member of TSF. I was woundering if we should have a secret hand shake:D or wear a red Coronation like on a blind date:p No only joking.
Going down on my own so it would be nice to meet up with a few guys, if any of you guys are going can you PM me your telephone numbers so we can meet. I'm driving from west london if anyone wants a lift.:snooker:
May be TSF could give us free T shirts on or rist bands with their name on:D

Just got back, I think there were 58 although it could have been more. I lost in the second round. I played with a cheap cue that I only had a couple of hours practice with. I enjoyed the day out, the comp was well run and the manager and staff were friendly. I have to criticize the tables; my first round match table was so slow (table 9). It was so bad that I played a shot to nothing on a red and finished perfect on the blue????
I thought it can't get any worse than this that until I played on table 18, the table looked like it hadn't been recovered in about 4 years, and there were holes every where and the cushions were so dead I thought someone had dug them up from the ground. In fairness to the club it is under new management, but having said that this table was unplayable and should not have been used in the comp. The highest break was 16 I think, certainly no more. The club manager has said that he is going to have the tables done, Just feel a bit let down by the club as I traveled quite far to take part :(.

I know what you mean about the condition of the tables...i have played on most of them, and there are very few which are of a good standard. Did you hang around to watch the final, and if so who won? I wouldn't be surprised if it was Paul Sweeny if he entered..

The guy I was playing with was only young and I could tell he could play. Just shows you how bad the table was. The guy who lost on the table before my match told me to refuse to play on it, I thought he was exaggerating and I didn't want to cause a fuss. Its the first proper comp I played in 20 years, I'll put this one down as a lesson learned. :D
Hi spike
I didn't hang around as I had to travell back to london and didn't want to get back to late.

i got back about 5.30 enjoyed the event however must agree that the tables were terrible. Paul Sweeney didn't enter but Stuart Bingham, Barry Hawkins and Gerard Green played think one of these will win.. Won't mind i beat Stuart Bingham at Romford yesterday in a 6 six reds comp:snooker::snooker: feel gutted got knocked out in the second round.

Bloody annoying you go all that way and the tables are crap. Under new management, you would of thought it would of been a good idea to get the tables sorted first, then have a pro-am

Think of the first thoughts of this club that players are going to remember.:mad::(
