I'm amazed at how Martin plays wearing glasses , as he appears not to look through the lens but over the top of his frames .
I wear glasses and don't know how he manages it .

i'm not sure but maybe he's not able to see near objects but these which are far away.
another -better- reason is, he tried it with contact lenses and snooker glasses but he found out his always used glasses are the best... just my 2 cents ;)

I can only imagine that terminator147's first guess is right.
He must be long sighted, and doesn't need glasses to focus on the object ball, but needs them to focus on his cue shaft and tip.
Either way, they did him no harm against Fu, and Gould thoroughly deserved to progress.
I was impressed by the way that he attacked that match near the end.

I've seen Martin played in my club and he is the potting machine. The numbers of 147 breaks he made and centuries are impossible. In one night he played 10 frames and he made two 147 and 4 tones. He played very well in off cameras and just need to have a one good run in this championship to show his talent.
Good Luck to him in the second round and I hope he can produce what he capble off doing every day in practice.
Cheers
Michael.

Hi Neil, doesn't martin play in your leauge or is he in a different division to you, maybe ask him if you get the chance.

I'd guess he is long sighted.
I'm also long sighted so I don't really bother with my specs, tried contacts a few times but they just seemed to annoy my eyes rather then improve my game.

I hope he can stay in for a few rounds.
The guy has got undoubted talent, he just looks a little uncomfortable and nervous though.

He was due to play in the champion of champions tournament but pulled out . Probably playing a tournament somewhere .
Would really like to see him do well . Not sure what it is about him but he does not look like a snooker player . Like his attitude and he does go for some amazing pots . Come on Martin keep it up .

Does anyone know if Martin uses single prescription lenses or vari-focal lenses?
