Hi Guys,

I am based in Erith, DA8, which is near Dartford, Kent.
I am wondering if anybody knows of any competitions in this kind of area, whether it be an internal competition at a specific club, or a weekly league or even 1 off tournaments not too far away.
I have looked on the Kent Snooker site and they dont seem to have anything running until later in the year, if they ever update their tournament calender!
My local league has finished until the winter now, and im really missing the competitive side of the game, seeing as i normally beat my practice partners fairly easy.
any help is greatly appreciated
Carl

Perhaps you could ask at your local clubs.

Have already rung round a few that I know....
Welling Snooker no longer holds any
Spiders in Bexleyheath just shut down!
Erith doesnt get enough people interested

What is wrong with snooker at the moment, people dont seem to be wanting to play anymore

That is a problem, hopefully somebody on here from that area will be able to inform you of tournaments. However, it is really past the end of the season, once the season starts again around September there may be more tournaments. Have you considered the EASB's tournaments? www.englishsnooker.com

Not sure how old you are, but EASB has announced its calendar for 2010-11 and there are a number of their events to be held at Romford, which isn't too far across the river. They include two of the six events in Zone C of the Regional Junior Tour for Under 18s... the other events being held at Brighton (2) and Woking (2). Each event can be entered individually, you don't have to enter the whole series.
