WSA have released entrant numbers today for first 4 PTC events.

PTC1 - 93 pros + 113 amateurs (so only 6 pros have not entered)
PTC2 - 96 pros + 116 amateurs
PTC3 - 98 pros + 116 amateurs
PTC4 - 95 pros + 149 amateurs

hopefully all the top 16 have entered (only ones I regard as doubtful are Ronnie, Ding, Allen)

Whats the point of for example English amateurs entering 6 Euro ptc's unless they're stacked with a shed load of cash ? Unless money's a trifling matter and its a mere leisurely pursuit ?

if you dedicated to every PTC and get some success you could get on The Main tour for 2012/2013 season.

you got to spend money to make money you get nothing for nothing if they have ambition they got to give it a chance.

Point is though if they're not sponsored they or someone's paying their bills, unlike the pro's where I gather all overseas accomodations paid for them. Without a sponsor I'd just do Q school then the 6 Brit Ptc's then wait out the rest but pay for the entry if I had to.

he played in PTC 1 Last year.

i think hes entering the season in good spirits inspired by Trump and the WC Final BUT when all said and done its a big big commitment the snooker tour these days in time the good spirit might be knocked out of him.

Eden is one of a handful of young Scottish players who have their sights set on a pro career, among them Scott Donaldson, Michael Leslie, Rhys Clark and Ross Muir.

Eden finished the season ranked 8 on the Scottish Main Tour and 4 on the Under 21 tour which was a disappointing season for him. He also fell to young Kascper in the European Under 21s in Malta. He has done well at the recent Pontins events, securing a win there recently in the Under 21s

However he has been practicing regularly this season with John Higgins, Marcus Campbell, Alan MacManus and Ants McGill and it looks like it is now paying off.

It’s an expensive game to play and thanks to Pockets Promotions and others Eden has only entered this PTC event for some experience to see how he would get on with the conditions and the format. He is not entered in any others!

The conditions and format will suit “The Tartan Touch” as the young Scottish players are also used to playing long hours week in week out.

Eden knows no fear on the table no matter who he plays as he zones in on the balls. Every match is just another opportunity to do what he loves to do and you practically have to throw him out the venue!

He now plays Marcus in the last 16 so who knows?

I've seen a few videos on FB a few months back, I think he has his own table so to have that kind of start at a young age is only going to give you a big advantage over the not so lucky ones. Looks a very promising player, reminds me a bit of a young Stephen Lee.

That's not true. Eden lives with his mother in a flat in Alloa. He is NOT one of the lucky ones. He has no job, can't drive and travels to all the Scottish events by public transport, unless he is lucky enough to get a lift.

He is a prime example of a young player trying against all the odds in this game.

The only reason Williams, Higgins, Hendry, Murphy etc lost in the first round is because they clearly did not prepare for the "tournament". Ronnie obviously thinks he's got something to prove (and he does) so he has been practicing hard non stop over the last few weeks.... which is not surprising considering he does not have a wife and can't be with his kids during the week.

Thats not Ronnie's fault is it, he is responsible for his own preparations, last season he didnt enter many and he seen the effect it has on our ranking along with alot of other players.
