TWO-time European pool champion Kim O’Brien returns to the women’s snooker circuit on Saturday in the East Anglian Championship at Pot Black Sports Bar, Bury St Edmunds.

It was at this club that O’Brien, who lives in Bury St Edmunds, last played on the World Ladies Billiards & Snooker Association (WLBSA) tour. She reached the Plate and Doubles finals at the World Championships in April.

O’Brien will be joined in the draw by Fran Calvert, from Lowestoft, who also played in the World Championships.

World number one Reanne Evans has claimed the East Anglian title for the past three years.

In 2007, it was won by Kent’s Katie Henrick – her one and only WLBSA title.

As well as the main event, there will be a Plate competition for first-round losers, a Seniors (40+) knockout and an under-40s Shield knockout.

The East Anglian Championship is the third of six WLBSA ranking events this season. The Pot Black Sports Bar will again host the World Championships in April.

Has anybody ever thought about mixed doubles in snooker?

The WLBSA has a mixed doubles knockout during its world championship every year.

First round starts at 10am. Competitions go on all day and usually well into the evening.

As regards the Mixed Pairs at the World Championships, the girls usually find a professional to pair up with.

Tim, do you have a Twitter account and if so, what is it? What I mean is to ask if either you or Mark could tweet the results . Not match by match the way World Snooker does, but at the end of each round. (Yes, I know, I've been told before, I am very impatient so I find it quite difficult to wait for the event report. lol )

Later: where can I find the list of all the matches, please?

I do have a twitter account but it doesn't have match results. I'm down in Southampton waiting news like everyone else.

Hi Mignon,

Sorry I wasnt there either, the wife took Hannah to the event. Only the 2nd time that I havent been to watch Hannah play and she played very well - interesting lesson there I think ;) . I am surprised that they dont tweet the results as they come in, like I used to, because there is a lot of interest from around the world.
