Can some one help me out here because I could be going mad. I've been playing this game for 30 years and watching on TV for more and I can't ever recall seeing a fluke where the red ball has rattled in the corner pocket and gone direct into the centre.
The fluke I'm talking about is the Ali carter Graham Dott game?

made a mistake on the original post might make more sense now. Surprised I had no replies My thinking is that it's the cut of the pocket that has caused this unusual fluke??????

Yeh i seen that fluke, what's your point though, help you out on what?
Once a ball is rattled in a jaw it can be 'thrown' in any direction and end up in any pocket/anywhere on the table more or less, hit hard enough, and on this occasion it happened to end up in the middle!!!
Sure judd had similar fluke/shot not long back too, but that boy has probably managed every possible variation of fluke known, how hard he hits the ball...:)

If I've understood what you are describing correctly, it happens about 25 seconds into this great compilation:

Can you say hand on heart that you seen this fluke before???? Because I never have, the ball came out of the Jaws at a really odd angle. Most times if the ball goes that far in it will more sideways to the other pocket. This ball came out a 45 degrees I never seen this before. As per Judd fluke I didn't see it so can't comment on it. The point is that not only can you pot silly balls hitting cushions
before the ball even enters the jaws of the pocket. the ball is now coming out a odd angles. It's funny that you've used Judd as an example as this I take it is on a star table.

Now I've re-read your post I see that I've misunderstood! You meant the opposite middle pocket, I presume! (I didn't see this evening's match.)
In which case, see 3min:11sec here:
