Ive noticed in on some tables in my club that the bottom pockets are slightly smaller than the top ones, is this right or are the tables just crap.

The tables are just crap. All pockets on one table should be the same size.

lol... I think you will find the table fitters didn't put the cushions into the correct place when they tightened the bolts! but don't worry its easily corrected.

Well, pockets seem to be smaller than they used to be anyway! :D So say Dennis Taylor and Steve Davis ( quoted by John Higgins in an interview on BBC Wales ) !!!... ;)

The pockets are should be all the same size unless there is a fault with a table. Where I play we would be lucky to have a faultless table. You will find on most tables in amatuer clubs the will be a fault with one of the pockets due.

Our pockets were the tightest in the League, we'd average 15 to 20 points per frame less at home and quite enjoyed playing at away Clubs, then we got some new ones (2), but they're still stopping us getting a 50 break or more (90+ on other Clubs'), some of us say it's the way the rubbers are cut, the tablefitter said that one of the old match tales is a billiard table.... in a match, you'd refuse a red touching the black cushion (even if you were right behind it) for fear of a gimme. I think we'll "ave a word", with the maintenance firm next time they come. Another tablefitter I spoke to said that the rubbers could simply be chamfered quite cheaply; not sure or got a quote yet. The fact I practice elsewhere keeps me sane.:) My club in Sheffield always used to be the one the BBC went to to show how bigger Club pockets were compared to the Pro's, JP used mine & my mate's table once; weird to see them there after I'd moved away.

Can anyone asist me? I have agreed to help a freind who has bought an antique full size snooker table (Boroughs and Watts) here in the Algarve. I did my apprentiship in billiard fitting and would like to know if I can get a template for new rubbers (the template for the top of the cushion)
Regards,
Jaime
