Number of online users

It is always interesting to see the number of people onsite at any time – I always look at it!

But it is curious that over the last two or three weeks the number of people on line has tended to be in single figures or no more than 15 or so – not so surprising since it's out of season and the weather's been kind!

And suddenly in the last few days there has been a huge increase in the number of visits, and I just wondered why at such an innocuous moment this has happened. Any ideas?

(And also I noticed that my post average has dropped to 29.99 posts a day!)

I think that's because Curtis increased the cookie expiration time to one hour (used to be 15 minutes) in order to fix Dean's problem. So users are now considered to be 'online' if they've visited within the last hour.

Sorry to be pessimistic, but it probably hasn't really increased at all :(.
