A total of four professional tournament finals have gone to a deciding frame, which itself has required a re-spotted black. The Masters is therefore unusual in that it accounts for two of these occurrences. The first was the 1975 final, in which John Spencer beat Ray Reardon 9–8, and the other was the 1998 final, in which Mark J. Williams beat Stephen Hendry 10–9.
