Should your cue be straight?

I have experienced that the straightness of a cue has very little effect on a player's cue action.

What's your opinion on this guys?

Totally true. My cue has a slight kink in it, probably about 2mm about 12 inches away from the tip and it never causes me any problems. So long as you cue with the bend facing upwards or downwards then it shouldn't cause you a problem.

Hendry played for a number of years with a bent cue, as does Mark King and probably a few others. You tend to get used to it as the bend developes but there will probably come a time when you need to have the cue straightened, if possible.

Straightness is overrated ! - a cue should obviously not be like a banana but if its straight or not is not actually that important what matters is that it will perform the same shot consistantly.

I would say that if your cue is bent it can get into your head and become an easy excuse.
I know a few people that have bent cues but I played against someone whose cue was ridiculous the other week!
It was really really bent right at the end (the last 5in maybe) you could see it was bent from 10 ft away. He still beat me like!
