  • new dude.. needs a cue. HELP!

hi all new to the forum, have been searching google and cant find any places to buy a cue from in person altho i know there about.

Im from tamworth which is close to bham, walsall etc... i heard theres a place in walsall that sells handmade cues? anyone know the name/address?

also if anyone knows any other good places please let me know

i am looking to spend between £30-£70 - not too fussy just want something thats better than the club cues!

    Thanks

p-s, i can go to jjb and get one for £30 but ive been told a handmade is much better or something

    thanks again

Hiya, I'm from Bilston, not been to Walsall for ages and I dunno of any such shop there. The only localish place i've heard that sells cues is Ron Flowers shop in Queen St Wolverhampton. What he has on offer there I dont know but seeing a blokes cue recently that cost him £125 for a Lewis & Wilson machine spliced chinese made but labeled English cue I'm hardly likely to look let alone recommend it. Your best bet for that money is ebay I reckon, look for a second hand 3/4 or one piece ebony cue.

        Bostin, aye it..

Fleabay is a good bet. I've just bought a handmade 3/4 Craftsman Cue inc. case from there for £65. Have a good trawl you may find a bargain

Just got to read inbetween the lines with descriptions on ebay " bought new just above a year ago" means 20 years or so dont it Gramayr ?

Not that ages matters one bit really it's the comic ones that get me looking at least a couple of times a week. for example...

Grey Ebony... WTF ? Chinese for cheap Rosewood. (google grey ebony and all you'll find is it's a name of a type of rabbit lol.)

wont say anymore I think i've hit on an idea for a thread of its own...

you can't buy a decent hand made cue for this money unless you fancy a holiday to thailand and even then you will struggle!

Just seen a Craftsman on fleabay #110139365131. Reckons it's brand new, never been used. Looking at the badge (which is the same as mine) that may be a fib as I may be wrong but that's one of the older badges (mine turned out to be from the 80's). Pictures could have been better.

Have no connection to the seller btw. Just a habbit now of looking since buying mine.

                Fleabay pic.

                Mine.

"Just a habbit now of looking since buying mine"

lol it gets addictive dont it? Hi my names Wity and i'm an addict of some 7 months now

I'm on a diet though, I only look once every three days, ok so i miss the one day auctions but they are few and far between and if I think i should really be doing something else i'll limit the search to "ebony cue" which cuts out all the crap.

                    new Cue

                    Hi
There is a place in cradley heath that sells and makes hand made cue, prices are reasonable according to what spec you want?
I bought mine for 85 quid with case and comes with 2 extensions which make it into a 5 peice cue. Cant remeber their phone No but can find it for you should you want it?

you can't buy a good hand made cue in a case with two extensions for £85 full stop.

What weight, what type wood, ferrule size..? Handmade is a confusin' term, I dont think there's a machine that produces cues without being handled somewhere..
                          Please mail back

                          Regards
