  • 0000 grade wire wool vs very fine sandpaper

    Hello everybody.

I came from the pool planet. There when it comes to polishing the shaft or tip edge, we use very fine sandpaper, 1500 grit and up. I recently came to the snooker planet and it was the first time I heard of the 0000 grade wire wool ... ignorant me.

Is it wool? Is it very smooth? Do you use it to polish the shaft and tip to give it that final slick touch? How does it compare to very fine sandpaper, Q-Smooth, or Q-Wiz? Where can I buy it?

    Thanks a lot.

any hardware store should have steel/wire wool. I have always steered away from it because it could get into the graining of the wood, especially on ash and other woods with lagrer graining. I'd stick to the 12-1500 grit paper.
