  • beginner! new cue tips...

Ive just bought a set of elk master tips, both 9 and 10mm. Removing the old tip from my cue (which is a mere £30 cue), the new 9mms i have seem to fit perfectly as though made for the cue. the 10mm seems somewhat large when placing it at the end. can anyone explain am i supposed to file the tip down? would that not defy the point of a larger tip?
sorry for the stupid question. just a beginner!

also, can the tip just be glued manually? some sort of centering clamp? dont know.
    Thankyou for your time.
