  • Y Hendry Made So Many Centuries

When I Was Studying Hendrys Game Years Ago It Did Not Take Me Long To Figure Out One Of The Main Reasons He Made So Many Centiries.....after Potting A Black Ball Of The Spot Steven Made Shure His White Ball Came Up The Table High Enough For The Next Red Into One Of The Black Pockets..even If It Meant Going Up To The Blue Line.....i Have Watched So Many Other Players Not Get The White High Enough And Then Missing After Tyring To Cut One In The Side Or The Corner From A Sharp Angle.....doing The Line Up Practise Can Help With This....after The First Black Or 2 Send The White Ball Up The Table Near The Blue And Take One Of The Reds Above The Pink.also When I Do The Line Up I Try And Give Myself A Natural Angle On The Black At All Times For Getting On The Next Red...

To be fair to the writer he hasn't wrote like that and this is a bit uncalled for.

It's actually quite popular on some torrent sites to mix upper and lowercase. I guess it's just a sign of people rebelling.

Grammar and spelling has definitely changed due to text messaging.

Popular maybe, but I find it extremely annoying. Somehow completely mixing upper and lowercase is easier for me to read than starting every single word with upper case (I basically ignore these posts).

I also noticed that Hendry was very comfortable with his siding shots when he played it with just the right amount of side to get on his next ball from the bottom or side cushion. His potting with anything under 3/4 table was ridiculously accurate. So, even when he is slightly out of position some times, he could recovered and keep his break going. That is also, in my view, one of the main reason why he had so many 147.

Well...Fred Davis was 70 when he played at the Crucible in 1984. Reardon won the 1982 Professional Players Tournament, which was a ranking event, at 50. So from this perspective, I can't see why Ronnie couldn't be competing in his 50's, as well.
Not that he'd need almost 30 years to match Hendry's century record, anyway. Unless playing in reverse.

Yes, added to the fact that as long as Stephen is still playing he is likely to add between 5-10 centuries per season minimum. Its still a lot to make up.
Also Stephen started out during the late 80's when there were about 12 tournaments a season, even through to the 90's there were at least 8 or 9 tournaments. Now with just 5 or 6 tournies per season its just unlikely that anyone will match that record regardless how good they are at breakbuilding.

Hendry is in his late thirties now, and struggling, so Ronnie could easily be in the same situation 5 years from now. 5 years ago Hendry made just as many centuries as Ronnie.
