does being left or right handed actually have any real difference in snooker?

ive heard that left handed people are generally better but there arn't that many in the game, only neil robertson and mark williams are the ones i can think of.

In makes no difference apart from the fact that shots from from one side of the table are easier if your a left hander and more difficult on the other side. The only possible advantage could be if your opponent put a ball safe onto a side cushion forgetting you were a left hander(ie a colour on the right cushio near the baulk line).

I agree with janverhaas. In my opinion there is no difference but a left hander would need to change their body position and their body position would be different to a right hander. An 'elderly gentlemen' that I know who is a knowledable player says that left handers have more of a natural abilty for the game, he probably thinks that because thee is less left handers than right, and he is left handed himself!

Some people may think that because Jimmy White with the ultimate cue power that left handed players have more cue power but that is incorrect.

I hope you are not thinking of changing from right to left handed! If you are naturally right handed, be right handed!
