  • How much practice in day?

    Hi.

Im just curious asking about how much do you guys practice in one day/week?
Finnish pro player Robin Hull told, that he practice about 4-6 hours every day. His hardest practice week included 70 hours of training (65 % alone/35 % with his mates)! Thats 10 hours every day!

Im just regular club player, and I have been practicing 3-6 hours every day for last two months. I have been playing snooker for some years now, but still Im not good, even average player.

So, how much do you practice and how long have you been playing?
Everybody, even youngest beginners and those 147 break players, post here.

i played about 15 hours a week. about 8 hours on my own.

When i practise on my own. i try to find out my technical errors rather than practising shots that i can play.

Thats right, but I havent... well, maybe its because my technique collapses every time after 2 hours of practice. Im trying to practice everything little bit, so Im not bored, like I would be if I practiced line-up 4 hours every day.

Probably not if you are just practising poor technique to start with. One of my mates plays every day for around 4 hours and I haven't seen any improvement in his game at all.

              hi

I used to practise all the time. Now I'm down to 2 hour a week playing time. I'm just to busy working & studying at the moment.

I work full time so cannot afford (financially and timewise) to practice as much as I would like.

If I'm playing badly I will take more time out to practice on my own, to iron out the issues I'm having. If I'm playing well, I tend to try to practice against players and play for small wagers, to keep the focus on the game.

When I was improving I would practice a couple of hours at a time, until I could feel my concentration wavering. I'd take a break, maybe leave it til the next day(s) and then do the same again. I'm quite fortunate to have improved to the standard I'm at now because I haven't been very devoted with my practice, but my desire to improve has always stood me in good stead.

I used to do the line-up a lot in my early days, which helped no end to improve my breakbuilding. Spread the reds and colours on their spots is also good for this. Otherwise, just keep trying to play better players than yourself so that even if you're picking them out for them, you're learning and watching the way they breakbuild and that in turn will help you to improve.

I practiced 3-4 hours six days a week until i got married and got a son. Nowadays it's 3 days playing, 4 days fighting with my wife

                      I practice around 15 hours a week!

about 7 alone, 8 with club members.

To tell the truth my cueing is not to good at the moment. It was much better but I had a motorbike accident (smashed hip) and had to learn to stand differently.

Scince then I've been having difficulty keeping everything together!

and I'm married with three kids.

I would say buy your missus a horse and you can spend alot more time playing snooker, it worked for me

I don't think the horse will fit in my garage! You are very lucky, I miss the game at the moment , but I am unable to play because of other commitments. Plan on going to hte club on Saturday though, come hell or high water.

                          High water!

Hope it dosen't get that far, playing snooker out of a dingy and keeping still on the shot would be hard work

As for hell, I'll take that hot women down there apparently
