  • Not completing wrist cock

I'm not fully cocking my wrist on the backswing, my wrist starts to cock and then stops which causes hesitancy and lack of smoothness at the end of my backswing. I've also been miscueing which I'm thinking could be due to this fault.

Is the most likely cause gripping the cue too tightly?

If you are miscueing then that is a sign of a grip that could be too tight. My website shows the wrist cock and grip in more detail at www.snookercoaching.net

You should bring the cue back with the first finger and thats what creates the wrist cock. Too much of the other fingers and you will struggle. Try just holding the cue with the thumb and first finger and playing some screw shots like this to get a feeling for the wrist cock. Then place the other fingers lightly around the cue when you think you have it right.

Watching you play with ronnie O Sullivan in that video, I think you have a very nice and straight cueing action.

          Nice one Mike!

You're getting quiet a reputation here! Not just for making cues
