    Hi Coach,

As no one table is the same, are the potting angles for the same shot vary as well? Thanks

No, they are the the same potting angles and contacts on whatever table one is one, you may have to aim different if a table rolls off, but the contacts and angles are the same, unless an object ball rolls off when you would need to aim wrong the the opposite side that it rolls and miss it by enough so that it rolls that distance from the target (pocket) and goes into the pocket.

        Thank you Daz,

I always have problems with different tables. I only complaint about a table once. In that occasion I played on that table for three consecutive days. I can only play well in the VIP rooms, where the tables are silky smooth, and I don't have to worry about adjustment.

          Hi Bongo

All tables are different usually its speed, cushion bounce, pocket size and sometimes the height of the table varies which can feel strange, its all part of the learning curve

          Thanx

Hi Daz welcome on board. Im new, only joined recently. Do you think a table with steel back cushions is easier to play on than one with ordinary cushions? Its just Ive played on a table with steel back cushion and they seem to respond so differently. Unfortuantely our club dont have them.

              steel block cushions

              Hi Manvilla

At the snooker academy in Sheffield i played on the Riley tournament tables which had steel block cushions, after about one frame i was used to the bounce, you do get a very consistent bounce which you don't always get from club tables. These tables are about £9000 thats why most clubs don't use them.

Would that be the same consistent bounce we see leaving the players completely baffled at major ranking events???

Good point trev1 this issue i am sure is been look at by Riley, but i myself think it will be ongoing just like the problem about cue ball kicks.

Good one Trev! I think the bounces are more to do with the conditions the tables are used in on TV. You don't get these bounces on the tables at Pontins or in clubs.

The difference with the steel block cushions I found is that they slide a lot more than standard tables, it can catch you out, especially when escaping from snookers.
