  • Leather Case Maintainance

    Hello,

I've managed to get myself a 3/4 leather cue case for a bit of a steal from ebay.

However when it arrived it stank of dogs and has a few scuffs on the corners where it had been stood up by the naughty previous owner! i'm thinking a generous wipe down with some leather cleaning wipes then a bit of the appropriate colour shoe polish to the scuff marks?

Any other tips for my little repair jobs?

ps its going to be laid flat from now on!

The fact is it will get scuffed mate!
I lay mine flat but when out and about you end up putting one end on the floor.
I always but my cue in the same way (1 piece) so only stand it on the butt but it's still scuffed at both ends.
I've got a few scratches on it too. One big one from pulling it out of a mini bus the other week. I was not happy!
I would be interested in tips but I think leather cases will mark a bit.

stamford cues make little rubber stoppers that go on the ends of the case to stop it getting scuffed give them a ring and see if they will sell you some also glover cues fit brass ends. you have to be very carefull with leather cases they mark very easy .

Mine's a stamford the rubber only really works on black cases, mine is tan! Doh!
Brass should work on any colour!

I've yet to find the ideal case, spose it'd have to be made to order.

One that'll hold 2 one piece cues a fat ended push on telescopic extension two min butts, a glasses case which i keep my tips glue and such in and a small face cloth as me mum calls em (them talisman towels) oh and one of them little black gizmos that fit on a rest (bought it 2 years ago used it 3 times the first day and neve had the need since). Leather but not patchwork with some kinda replaceable ends as they are all g-teed to get scuffed.

and costing no more than a ton.

          Dream on Wity.

New case, carrier bag or utility belt ????

It'd be far easier if I just sewed the holes in my pockets. 4 pairs of jeans here and holes in the front pockets of them all.

Fags, lighter and change in one, mobile and a comb in t'other, wallet in back and towel in the other used to work fine.

Never without a piece of chalk in the ticket pocket though.
