  • Will pool table at home help snooker game?

I like playing snooker, but can't find enough time for it...maybe twice a month.

I used to play decently well when i was younger. I was playing 3-4 times a week. Max break of in 60s and usually 40s.

Now i struggle to get 4 balls potted.

Will a pool table at home help my overall accuracy and position play, or will the smaller size mess up my angles and speed judgement?

I was planning to get a mini snooker table (8ft), with snooker size balls....

I don't have the space for a full size table at home.

    Thanks for any help

If you play regularly on a pool table at home your snooker will improve faster than if you played snooker twice a month.

You need to prcatice properly though.
It will help your all round game but you will get more used to things that happen on a pool table. You be used to playing thin cuts etc but a long shot on a full table will look huge.

Before I had my pool table at home I used to play snooker every week as part of my practice I don't now but I recon my snooker is better now and my pool much better. You just might need a bit of time at first to get into the snooker.

Having a small pool/snooker table at home will help what is sometimes known as the ABC of the game. Stance, bridge and cueing. But it is of course definately better than nothing but as Watford said, the long pots on a full size table will look almost a mile away! So it won't mess up your game but as much time on a full size table will help the long pots especially. You should also get the balls to match the table size. Make sure you do not get full size (2 1/16 inches) balls for a small table.
