  • Sheridan Snooker Cue - What Price?

I have a Sheridan Snooker Cue which I am contemplating selling and was wondering whether anyone could give me an indication as to price.

I don't believe these cues are made any more.

The cue is immaculately straight, it is approx 18 oz in weight, ash shaft with a plain ebony butt. The tip is approx 8.5mm and the cue is 56.5 in length.

The butt has a white disc on with simply the words "Sheridan" inscribed in black italics.

The cue has a fantastic feel to it and if I did decide to sell it, it would be with great reluctance.

The only reason I no longer use this cue is because I bought a maple cue which was a bit heavier.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Sheridan cues were made by Nick Reny at sheffield. He started making cues in the late eighties and the first ones had a steel and black perspex joint. Nick made very good cues and i know what you mean when you say yours is a good player as i made my first maximum with the one i had. Nick sadly can't make cues any more due to ill health. Value??? Well they should be worth more than they are but i would say £150-£200 for a mint 57-58 incher. With yours being 8.5mm and shorter maybe £100 which in my eyes means you are better off keeping it as its no doubt worth more than that to you. I wish i still had mine It got stolen

      Thanks for the info Gloveman.

I was on the verge of selling it for £90 a few weeks back but had a change of heart. It is such a nice cue. I am seriously thinking of getting it made a little heavier, but it seems a shame to alter it. It also seems a waste to have such a nice cue and not use it.

It would be a superb cue for 8 ball pool, however I dont play anymore.

      Thanks again
      John

That isn't quite how it works as original is always preferrable and I can see that this cue clearly means a lot to you and you value it highly. I will not be able to meet your price.

We are not too far away from each other then. I have really only just started playing again after many years, I stopped to concentrate on 8 Ball then stopped playing cuesports all together about 5 years ago.

                        Do you play much?

You have certainly put in some hours and I am sorry to hear about your uncle's death. I have just started playing regularly with my uncle.

I play at the Academy in Basingstoke. We could meet up at Newbury or Thatcham for a few frames.
