  • Genuine box of Elkmaster tips?

I recently bought a box of 50 elkmaster tips and inside the box the tips were a deep blue colour, quite dark.

However a friend down the club has a box of elkmasters and his box has a dark blue border around the box and the tips inside are more of a light green colour...

Are these both genuine? or have one of us been sold fakes?

** Search on google images and you can get a picture of what i mean, the box is different and the colour of the tip

Personally i think they should be blue and not light green.

Every elk I've ever bought has been dark blue. Including ones from Craftsman cues.

If anything it's your friends that could be fakes. I've sold hundreds of these and every box I've ever opened has been blue with blue tips. One other possibility springs to mind... that the box and/or it's contents got wet prior to your friend buying it?

Just out of interest, where did you friend purchase them? And did he open with the trademaked Elkmaster Yellow and black seal or was that broken?

Lot's of fake's out there imported from China.

I find the fakes lighter in colour and also have less chalk on them.
The boxes of fakes are easy to spot when you have a genuine to compare.

yeah the genuine yellow elkmaster thing was unopened, he opened them but the box was different, if you search elkmaster tips on google and look, some are dark blue tips and the box is just plain blue

whereas my friends has a blue border around the box and the tips are more of a greeny colour, have a look on google images and tell me what you think ?

Had a quick look - lots of suppliers. Photo's look similar, but differing quality photo's can be deceiving. Looked on UKpool.com. & Longsight Snooker Supplies ( how much!!!!) and MaximumBreak. Not sure which site(s) you've been viewing.
Who did your friend purchase them from?

Tell him to send them back, get a refund and I'll do him a box of 50 9mm or 10mm GENUINE Elks for £15 plus £2 squid UK p & p - bargain. Cheaper than anyone I've seen...

                        Genuine Elks...

See the seal and the front and back holograms bearing the brandnames Master and Tweeten...Sure maybe our eastern cousins could copy all the packaging, but I've never had a bad box supplied to me and if I did I'd return them with a complaint!
