  • what is your highest break ?

I was looking at my own public profile and felt like I was maybe telling a wee fib when I had marked down my highest break as 81 although I did make this break a good few years back it was on a table that had pockets more akin to 9 ball than snooker. You see at the time my local club was bought over and the then new owners squeezed in a few extra tables, there was this one table that really had buckets plus a drift into the pockets that was like watching curling. lol so I felt it was only right that I am going back and changing my highest break to not what I have made I practice but what I have made in a league match which is 55 a long way short of my practice break but I am now giving myself a new challenge to beat that highest break before the end of the season. What have you all marked down as your highest break a practice break or a match break?

Practice is 3 x 147's and match is 138, but like you this was 20 years ago.

Now my best practice is 137 but best match break is only 92, (all on mostly templated tables) but it's getting better all the time now that I have a decent coach (myself actually) and a table at home.

Exceptional Terry , my highest in a league match is only 63 and in practice 104 [ missed last red as i was shaking so much ! ] . The 63 was a clearance last year and the 104 was 4 years ago . At the moment i'm lucky to string together a 50 in practice and a 40 in a match . Not doing my new cue justice [ sorry Mr White ! ] .
I believe that it is down to me playing at a higher league level where there is a great deal more safety play due to the quality of opponents . So , i'm not going for my shots anywhere near enough as i used to . I seem to have forgot how to make a break lately . I'm sure it will comeback as the season is nearly over !

147 in practice, if you count the line up as practice, 118 in a game.

Only four tons in games, lots in practice.:snooker:

          Highest Break

Practice is 3 x 106's can't seem to get passed that and the best match is 96 missed a blue with 1 red left, but that was a long time ago.

Now my best practice recently is 85 missed the green could have been a 110 clearence will beat 106 soon.

In Practice ive had 144 and in a match ive had a 141....

Packed the game in 2 years ago and recently just picked my cue up again having the odd knock, the last time I played was a month ago and I had a 100 break, still there in glimpses which is good to know.

Ashbash Does a "bounce" game count as practice? I always try my hardest when playing against someone and would feel a lot more pressure than if I was knocking balls about myself in a line-up.

That’s what I’m getting at mike the highest break I have made in a bounce game was 81 some years back on a table with bucket bags it was along at the old pockets club now called Marcos world of snooker. Yet the highest I have had in a league match was 55 so I feel it’s the lower one I should count as my highest and aim to beat it.

Highest break in practice, but proper match style practice is 132 - a 14 red clearance.

My highest in a match was many years ago in the lower divisions and won highest break of the year for that div. a 53, not the biggest break ever, but still I've got small trophy to remember it by!

Highest recently 69 week before last - missed an easy pink trying for pin-point position - never mind!

It's what you call a game when you play between your mate and yourself there is nothing in it just a friendly "practice" game. It's a lot easier to make a break when you’re playing a mate rather than playing an opponent in a league or cup match for me our league matches are only 2 frames so going in cold so to speak and making a break is really difficult.

Scottish terminology perhaps? Did you get my PM test from yesterday?
totlxtc on this forum is the guy I was telling you about who makes cracking cues. Have a look at his posts and there's a link to some of his work. Stamford Cues is worth a look (google them) as well but probably no where near TW. Cheers
