  • talisman vs pro granite tips

hey guys i find myself in a situation which i'm wanting some feedback for to help make a choice.

at the top of the year i placed a talisman tip on my cue, which i must say was a brilliant tip and cannot fault it (i'm sure some of you would disagree). however i find myself needing to change the tip (a reason i'm not going to disclose ), and in my possession i have 2 talisman tips and 2 pro granite tips.

part of me wants to stick with the talisman tips and the devil in me wants to try the pro granite tips purely cause i have them to try. i know i'm not going to know what the pro granite tips play like unless i try them but thought i'd ask on your experiences to see if any of you have tried both the tips.

also just to clarify i did not buy the progranite tips its adr's fault i have them lol . many thanks

well mr dragon ball z, i reckon u shld try the progranite!
ive tried both, did like the feedback from the talisman, BUT i prefer the progranite. i found myself miscueing sometimes with the pro granite, and with the fear a big miscue might cause the tip to delaminate, i never played with the same integrity i usually do. so i stick with pro granite now. no fear and total confidence. it is a touch softer tho, but still gives plenty of work on the ball while gripping it nicely. couldnt hurt to try is all ill say

I agree with everything said above Pro-Granite tip are superb I put one on my cue 6 weeks ago shaped it and knocked in a 50+ the same night the feel and control the tip gives you is second to none the tip also stays in shape so PRO-GRANITE everytime.

can i throw another tip into the mix guys...
I am currently using a MW supertip, pressed not laminated.
I have a talisman pro soft and a pro granite in my tool kit, can change it anytime...
any1 used all 3 of these and found any distinct differences?
ie. what is the talisman better at than the mw or pg... or vice versa, etc...

It would be Talisman every time for me(i use med)
The Granite tip is the best pressed tip i have used but i just can't be bothered with the maintenance that comes with pressed tips, although if i where to use one it would be these.
The MW layerd tip is also very good as are loads of others but Talisman wins it for me.

which of these 3 tips will give u the most cue power?
i know its technique, but if u played the exact same stroke with all 3, which would generate most??

Gotta say I prefer the talisman, like the doctor says once its on right there`s no maintenance mine has been on 6 months now and I have never touched it. I play 3 to 4 nights a week as well.

Same here, Talisman all the way!

Once on, no more worries or refiling, the best tips I've ever used.

I've just moved from soft to Medium and they give a real nice feedback on whats going on up front. I'll probably be sticking with the mediums now, even though I'd love a bash with one of the Talisman WB tips.

was a sad moment for me when i took the talisman tip off served me soo sooo well , got worse cause when i was sanding down the residual glue left on the cue, i realized i sort of sanded down abit of the ferule too, only one word came to mind B*ll***s

anyways guys i have now put on the pro-granite tip and will let you know how i get on, will try and keep an open mind but feels like i should of stuck with the talisman, the worst thing is i cant get to the baize till 2morow night when i have to play my league match, so i'll be bedding the tip, giving it a trial run and also wanting to win 5-0 as i need to win all my remaining 5 matches 5-0 to win the league....tall order i think.

hope the tip stays on am abit worried about the ferule, many thanks for the feedback guys cheers
