  • 3/4 cases - protect cues well?

A lot of the 3/4 cases I'm looking at only have 2 compartments, i.e divided into two along the middle.
If I've got a 3/4 butt, won't it bash around the case and get damaged when carrying without a divider in one of the compartments?

Looking at the geordie pool numbers for £85 - good cases?

    Thanks :-)

Hi there, i've just bought a Tony Wilshaw 3/4 cue with Mini and the long extension and that came with a Geordie Pool case and everything fits perfect, so on that basis I would recommend one. The only downside is that it doesn't lock but apart from that it's a nice piece of kit.

i find it funny that somebody can say they can reduce the prices by half - it can only mean they were charging way too much! i can get peradon leather ones for £170!

The case came with the cue so it saved me having to buy one, not too sure if I would have bought such a flamboyant pattern if I was spending my own cash but as I said it was a freebie and didn't feel the need to spend on a new case. On a different subject, what tips do you recommend for re-tipping my cue. 9.5 mm, any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

I agree that everything should fit, but I'm saying that if I have the shaft and the butt only then will the butt not slide about inside, thus damaging it?

I get your point and yes I think you will have to buy a normal 3/4 case without the facility for carrying extensions etc. as yes, they would move around in a case designed for that facility. Good luck with your search I'm sure you will find a decent case out there.

As a few people mentioned a while ago.. a cue towel on top will keep things nice and sturdy if its flapping about.

Flame, yeah I saw something similar to that which would be ideal, but looking at the specs: 41.5 inches - isn't that a little short? If you have a 58 inch cue, minus a 14 inch butt, that comes to 44 and is therefore too short.
If a cue towel wedged in works, then I'm happy to do that...
