  • Longtime lurker with an idea!

    Hi everyone,
I have been playing on and off for about 35 years but never had enough time to practice getting better.
I am planning on buying a 5 bedroom house in the countryside on the outskirts of Harrogate with a room big enough to put in a Riley Aristocrat Tournament Champion table for guests to use for a weekend.
Maybe for a group of mates spending a weekend away.
Maybe have a coach attend or use it for a coach to stay with their up and coming players.
Do you think it is workable?
    Any comments appreciated.

    Steve:

I think it's a great idea if you can afford it but remember, house guests are like fish...'after 3 days they start to smell'. Unless you're planning a B&B anyway.

Check the support for the floor under the intended room as on older houses with wooden floors if you don't put extra support underneath the weight may cause the floor to sag.

I have mine in the basement on a concrete slab and it never shifts (even though I've never managed to get it perfectly level).

I was thinking of a B&B basis and upstairs will have 2 bathrooms!
The 'room' at the moment is currently a garage attached to the side of the house but I have got PP to turn it into a room.
For the floor I was thinking of concrete as it will be a 'new' room
