  • TV blue ball wanted...

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a light blue ball like the ones they use on TV, rather than the almost navy blue one that comes in a standard set? My eyesight's very poor, and I'm now having trouble seeing the black at distance on my pool table, so thought i'd switch it for a snooker blue. I bought one, but it's almost as dark as the black.

    TIA

I would think that if they seem to be a light blue on TV, then it is the lights that make it look light. They will all be the same colour if they are in sets.

I'm fairly sure the green, brown, and blue are actually slightly lighter colours for the TV cameras and lighting. Never mind, I'll just have to make do.

I thought it was a bit of long shot, but thanks anyway.

The blue ball from aramith super cristalate set is lighter than the standard one. The difference is huge.

I don't like the yellow. Have more problems with that than any other ball on the table. I wondered if it is because it is the brightest so maybe looks bigger.

Thanks very much mihnea, just what I needed. I'll see if I can hunt one down.

            Thanks again.

That's an interesting thought, I wonder if other people find a particular colour more tricky than others.

One way to find out I suppose.

I also wonder if, in international tournament rules, it specifies how dark the colours must be. I play a lot of judo. Nowadays in competition we wear either blue or white suit. The regulations actually specify how blue the blue suit must be believe it or not.
