  • Why is there a break in Snooker gameplay? Is there a halftime?

Im new to the Snooker game, and educating myself. I am following the World Snooker Match between JACK LISOWSKI and KULDESH JOHAL and the score is stuck at 5-4 in favor of JOHAL. Why is this? Is there a halftime?

Long matches such as these, with 19 possible frames, are split into two sessions. Lisowski and Johal played their first nine frames today, while ten frames potentially remain for the 2nd session, which is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.

Most professional matches are shorter, so they can be played in one session, but this tournament is one of the exceptions. Matches are best-of-19 up to the last32 stage, which is already played at the main venue. The later rounds have three-session and four-session matches, played over a couple of days. But in most tournaments, only the final is played in two sessions.

Do you think LISOWSKI has any chance of coming back and winning this match tomorrow?

He's only one frame behind of course he has every chance of a comeback, players come back from 5,6 or even 7 frame deficits no problem
