  • Tip shape makes a difference?

Is there a thread on here about this topic. My question is not only about which make of tip but the shape. Should it be perfect dome? Is there a reason why Ebdon and others play with an overhand from an overisized tip? I have heard this makes potting easier and if why don't all pros do it? I realise the aspect of personal preference and all of that jazz but just wanted to understand a bit more about shaping tips and the science of shape to ball contact. I look forward to reading your replies.

i suppose the oversized tip is better from cueing off cussions etc but the shape of your tip is a personal thing ,i prefere me tip to be the exact shape as the white ball this gives the most contact with the white when cueing with side or what ever spin u put on the ball, and i like mine flush to the ferrule, also the smaller tip u have the more accurate u have to be with cueing straight cause u can put unwanted side on,
as for tips try whats best for you? i use kamui m a softer tip will wear out quicker but will be better at appliing screw side top etc.
i hard er tip will last longer and be better at potting straight line pots and when playing with side will not knock the ball off the line of shot as much the bad point is u dont get as much screw etc with a harder tip hope this helps
    2 off a ton
