When should you get a coach?

At what point in playing should you get a coach? I'm 25 and not interested in trying to become pro or anything like that. I would like to be able to make a century at some point in my life, and play for a club or team maybe. When I was younger i played 5-6 hours most weeks for 18 months or so, and my highest break was a 34 and make 15-20 every so often. I then stopped playing for the last 7 years really, with just an occasional game, and am just getting back into it. I'm not anywhere near as good as when I played more regularly at the moment, but want to put more time into the game again. I was just wondering, is getting a coach the kind of thing you do when starting out with goals to try and build a solid foundation or are you better off going as far as you can on your own and use a coach when you hit a wall to try and get to another level? Also what kind of price are you looking at for coaching?

any time, now
Where abouts are you located, as this will help members mention coaches local to you
Depending on the coaches level, prices vary but doing a 2hour session will give you some targets, training routines, etc, etc. and the like.
Very recently, the Snooker Coach Directory is starting to list coaches for people in your situation, maybe have a look there (Link at the top of TSF webpages). But it is no way definitive - yet
I can say that Gavin York in Northampton and Tim Dunkley in ChandlersFord are very good

I've heard good things about ex pro Andrew Highfield, he is based in Wolverhampton and worked at the world championship on the coaching table behind the bbc studio. His coaching rate is £20 per hour.
