I have finally after years of experimenting with cue's finally feel I'm ready to commit to buying an John Parris Ultimate.
So as off today I'm going to place my order. Of course if it don't work out the cue's have great resell value. I will update this thread with feed back from John.

Would you mind telling John along the way that either

"His customer service sucks" or

"One of his goons is doing a bloody bad job at it"

Both these instances were via email and never got a reply back from him via email and facebook.

I wanted to place an order for an ultimate last year, knowing that the lead time is well over 30 weeks..i sent an query asking for an estimate lead time after reading the FAQ..the reply i got back was simply 'read the FAQ".....even after clarifying and stating again clearly that i wanted an "real current wating time" based on their workload i got the same bloody reply...."refer to FAQ"

No I've gone full circle and have gone back to a full length cue and have found my potting boots again the short cue bent bridge arm experiment is over and consigned to the dust bin.

To answer your question deep screw the spec's will be close but not identical my cue will be lighter at 17.5 and I still not sure about the balance point. When I first spoke to John about ronnies cue he told me he likes a balance point at around 16 1/2. He later change this saying that is was more 17. I don't know if it's meant to be a secret. I don't know if I would like the balance this far back. Does anybody know the balance point ronnie likes. I here that lots of ppl have brought cues made for ronnie that he did not select so someone must know?

I'm sorry you had a bad experience but I don't see what posting on my thread will achieve apart from rain on my parade. Please take your complain to john where it can be dealt with through the proper channels

Youve had plenty of cues so are you not aware of the balance point you like and have had the mos success with?

Currently you seem to want to buy a very expensive cue that's to someone elses specs....this cue is for your remember not anyone else.

Hi deep screw I don't know how you worked out I'm buying a cue to someone else's spec's when I already said that their not the same.
All cues will have some similar spec's but you only have to change one detail and then the spec's becomes yours. I pretty sure I know what balance point I want but I'm in no rush to commit to this as it takes a long time for john to source the shaft so I will leave this detail till john is ready to construct the cue.


9.5 tip same as ronnie, but I have always played with a 9.5
30mm butt same as ronnie but I have always played with a 30mm butt
These the only things that are the same and they are pretty standard on most cues.

i never got an cue then...swore off parris from then on....over the last two years i have ordered robin...TW..Jason Owen etc, total about 7 cues in total with different specs (minimal), then came a Hunt Obryne along and surprising played like a dream....

I have always used 29.5mm butt, 9.5mm tip..whereas the H/O was 27mm butt and 9mm..

That is an amazing change in spec's, I'm glad you have found a quality cue they suits you.

Ronnie's current WC winning cue spec is 58", 9.5mm, 30mm butt, 18.3oz. Not sure of the balance, I'd guess at nearly 18.5oz and a full length that 16-16.5" is probably most likely. The longer and heavier the cue, especially a 1 pc, the more the likelyhood that the BP is less than 17". A 17.5oz cues that you have requested will probably come out at anything between 16.5 - 17.5" if the shaft is dense. Its really down to the selection of shaft that will largely determine the BP at a specified weight.
