  • Shooting from opposite side of the table question!

So I'm left handed and I shoot alot better from the right hand side of the table.

If I set up a red about 1/2 inch from the cushion and place the white ball pretty much parallel with the black roughly a foot away, I would say 9/10 I could pot the red and get perfect position on the black...that is if I'm shooting from the right side of the table.

Now If i move to the left side of the table and do the exact same thing, i can only do about 1/10. The other times I will either miss the pot or get the pot in and miss the position.

It's really frustrating as I don't know what is going wrong, it just doesn't feel right.

Is there some sort of special set up or adjustment that should be made when potting from the other side?

Hi mate, im Left handed as well and i use to have the same issue.
Basically you will be better on one side then the other, try tilting you head towards the left more (i sight with my right eye) and i found you can see the angle better. Just takes practice.

      Thanks for the reply.

I see what you are saying but would that mean I would only need to tilt my head more towards the left when I am on the left side of the table? because I am sure I am setting up everything the same, it just feels really weird.

Depends what shot it is....... To be honest i dont even think about it now.. i just walk up and hit it! lol
Try and look at the angle first then go back to the white and line up... Practice until you pot it 50 out of 50
Do this for a month solid.... i bet you wont miss shots like this in a game... it will naturally come to you...
Cuz at the end of the day its all about practicing the shots you dont like... or the side of the table you dont like... it will all come natural!
