    Tables out of true.

    I can play over the spots perfect with no deviation on two of the tables at my club ! however when playing on some of the other tables I find it very hard to get the perfect return over the spots lets put it this way ! swapped from one table to another with the result of crap ! perfect ! crap ! perfect. whats a sure fire way of checking a table is true without loads of high tech gear would it be the cushions or the bed.

    Tables out of true.

    A level? Only true way, you can check up and down the spots but you need to be consistent with hitting the white in the centre at medium pace.

      Place two reds tight on the cushion touching each other now put the white behind them and play them softly as if to play a plant.
      repeat both sides. If it sticks to one cushion and comes away from the other there's you answer.

          Brilliant reply a 3ft spirit level just wont fit in my case.

              An ordinary builders level will not tell you anything about if the table is level or not, unless it is miles out, so do not bother to take one to check it!

                Tables out of true.

                I saw the fitters fitting Ali Carters table and they use a big level for initial position then fine tune with small bubble level about 6 to 8 inches I think the only way is to be able to play dead weight balls straight and watch what they do.
