  • Coming into shot off- line

Hi, please could anyone give me some advice to correct my problem...i am coming into the shot off-line at an angle to the right at adressing the cue ball...also my cue tends to go off to the left after follow through on the shot???.

    Thanks.

I have the problem of cueing to the left too. One of the problem I found is that I use my shoulder at times when delivering the cue. If you take note of this, it should be easily corrected. Other reasons may due to what Terry said on the cueing to the left thread.

Nic Barrow has a video posted on here which goes over getting down on the shot straight. If that's not the cause of your problem then check out my posts on the thread mentioned above.

I couldn't find the video but do a search using 'nic barrow' as there is a link posted by ferret which will take you to all of Nic's videos I believe. If that doesn't work then PM Nic and ask as he sent out an email to all the members of thesnookergym.com. Maybe someone on here still has the link.

              Ossie:

Not certain if I played against Vic Harris or not. I recognize the name though and if he played on the pro-am tour in 86 to 89 then we probably did play somewhere or other as there were tournaments almost every weekend in England and Wales

Terry, I see loads of video addressing grip, stance, break building and psychology. Which is it? Stance?

I guess the video I'm referring to isn't posted up there however you can still PM Nic or else join 'thesnookerforum.com' as I'm certain it's posted up there as it's Nic's website. It's free.

By the way, you should watch ALL the videos anyway

Yes, I did mean the 'gym' and not the 'forum'. However, I just searched the forum on thesnookergym and couldn't find the video where Nic goes over approaching the shot with a student and using Dartfish.

It may be in the 'bronze' section of the gym which is also free as I didn't search there

Yes, that is the video I couldn't find, however I see it's not open anymore and one needs a Dartfish ID & PW to access it (which I never bothered to set up).

Too bad as it's a very good explanation on how to approach the shot correctly (or at least with the least chance of error)
