This might sound stupid but i have no idea how to drop my elbow.....i just pull my cue arm back and then propel it forward........even mimicking the action seems weird...like the cue would go through at a weird angle up over the cue ball

Can you upload a video of your cue action from front, back and side (where we can see the cue/grip etc) and maybe we can give some advice.

I suspect your grip hand is oriented such that there is a straight line down the outside of your grip forearm, and no you have no bend at the wrist, or you bend your wrist inwards. Or, perhaps you rotate your grip on delivery. In any case I suspect your thumb is pointing in to your body and your nipple is in it's path. If your thumb were pointing directly at the floor (as is commonly recommended) then your hand/thumb would be nice and flat where it passed the nipple and you'd have no problem.

Altering your grip is a large undertaking and will initially have a negative effect on your play. But, depending on what you're doing currently, and how/whether it's affecting your performance (nipple pain aside) it should hopefully result in a better cue action and more consistent results. That is, if you're willing to put in the effort required to change it.
