  • Question About The Snooker GYM DVD

Sorry to be repeating threads but can anybody answer the following questions before i make a decision on my purchase.

Most importantly - Is it good?? Sorry to be so blunt.

The other thing - I dont have a snooker table - I play in my local club maybe 3 times per week. Is this the sort of thing that you would need to be watching while at a snooker table or could I watch at home and go the snooker hall with the knowledge of what i have just seen?

    Thanks
    Glen

Question About The Snooker GYM DVD

Yes it is good I bought it and sold it on after I'd seem it a few times , there is some great info for every player. If you had a portable DVD player you could take it the the snooker hall or watch it at home and just go to the club and practice. I watched it over and over then went to the club. That's how I did it. After you have watched it you can always sell it on. I got £80 for mine when I stuck it on eBay.

Would you say it significantly improved your game?

Also did you watch one DVD and practice aspects on that or watch them all and combine the knowledge?

      Apologies for all the questions
      Thanks

I think there's far too much really good info on the DVDs for you to watch them all. It's always better to work on one thing at a time or one static thing (maybe stance) and one dynamic thing (slow backswing). I can't remember too much from the tapes but they are set up progressively to take you from the basics through to positional play, rest play and tactics.

If you are a regular century man then these tapes may be a little basic for you however there's still good info there, even for the accomplished player.

(I should disclose I am a SnookerGym Examiner and Master Coach and I have sold a few of these sets here in Canada).

          Thanks for the reply terry

I am at the moment getting consistent breaks of 40/50

I have had a break of 81 but that was after a dream split on reds.

I would love to make a century and to really kick on. Would you recommend this set as the way to go?

glen Think Forum Member Ashbash has a set for sale. Send him a PM. I got a look at them and found them to be a bit of a mix. Some parts excellent and some parts not so. The best section for me was the bit on positional play. I watched it over and over again before trying the routines out in the club.
