  • A week of snooker coaching

    Hi TSF,

I am excited that I will be heading to Melbourne in January to get a week's coaching with Robby Foldvari. My question is what should I expect/ask for? I have never had any coaching before and wanted to know what should I do to get the most from the experience? I am a reasonable potter (inconsistent) but my white ball control and safety play is not great. I also hoped to improve my billiards given Robby's background.

    Any tips/suggestions?

    Thanks!

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
    I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

I think the whole point is that the coach will watch how you play and tell you what you need to work on most not the other way round, you will probably find that working on one aspect with inadvertently help another part of your game without you realising it but the coach will know this.

Don't ask him to demonstrate anything, you're only there for a week!!

Exactly what went through my mind Gerry when I read the post.!!! Nevertheless a hugely talented and knowledgable player and coach who will be sure to help you. Enjoy the billiards.

Thanks for the suggestions! I will let the forum know how the coaching went. Hopefully it helps my game! I practice a fair bit but don't seem to be getting much better (maybe slowly). Still I LOVE my snooker but wish I could get a bit better soon!
