  • Mark Allen's Cue

Just watching him pay in the Welsh Open and i thought his cue looked like a JP Elite .

The cue he is using has some different splices .

Is it the same cue he has always used ?
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

Been using it a while now, ultimate with tulipwood splices and black veneers that are at about the halfway point between the tulip wood and the bottom of the ebony.

Is this the cue that Terry give him? I know that he played with a cue made by Keith Williams who lived near him in Antrim...

Not sure, seen someone say a while back he had it made by parris cues a few years back and has only started using it the last couple of years.

Keith Williams, is the that the guy who recovers tables?

I just never noticed the black veneer before . How long has he been using this ?

His other one was just tulipwood wasn't it ?

Could be the same cue and something he's had added fairly recently. If you look at some recent matches the veneers are more obvious when he's using the rest.

Yes Narl, he actually didn't make many cues at all, only made them for a short period, i actually have a maple cue from him, very nice playing cue but aesthetically not the best, though to be fair it does look a hard design for a new maker, as far as i know he mainly does re-cloths, well anything snooker/ pool wise...

I think with more coverage on TV today you get to see the players cues more often so sometimes something that you thought wasn't there suddenly appears is just because you've not noticed before. He's been using this for at least 2 years, I know his old cue, also in the elite style broke I beleve and JP made him this one at short notice if memory serves correctly. I actually think it was originally just like an elite but he's had it lengthened hence the dark veneers.

Is it true that Mark has the ash grain in the opposite direction (JHiggins-style)?
                  Up the TSF! :snooker:
