Omin Victory Cue from Andy Gibbs. Purchased Not knowing fully what to expect however on delivery WOW ! what a beauty the natural oil finish is out of this world and the attention to detail is faultless the eight chevrons and the splices line up perfect the joint with the OMIN engraved logo is bombproof. I think Andy may refinish these cues to a higher standard. 10/10 Andy for a great cue ok its not J.P. or T.W. M.W. but its as near perfect as you can get, Also there is a dinky little adjustable mini butt that is great for those type of shots that are that just over the normal mini butt length.

Beautiful cue! There is a Chinese Omin so be careful. Cues from Andy should be original Omin cues.

I dont think it is a Chinese as I dont think Andy would rip you off (At least I hope not) the cue is perfect and the oil plain finish is unbelievable the joint is deeply embossed with the O MIN logo the Chevrons line up perfect with the splice I have a Craftsman and a Phoenix and I hate to say it but the O MIN outshines both. the OMIN Red Tip appears very hard but gives a good clean screw back and hit but you must not forget to chalk it regular I suspect it may not hold chalk for as long as other tips.

I got a cue from Andy recently that he'd refinished, lovely silky smooth finish, think he uses Aurora oil.
If your going to stick with the O'min tip try investing in a tip pick, makes a big difference.
No one is listening until you make a mistake!

I think so. Very nice cue. Does Andy have more Omin cues? May wants to buy one from him.

I think you should check with Andy on this or risk insulting Omin cues. I've seen a selection of them on offer at a snooker hall in Brisbane and the finish is oustanding, easily on par with other top makers IMO.
                    Tear up that manure-fed astroturf!

I would not insult the person who finished this cue OMIN or Andy all I know is that it is outstanding if OMIN are finished to this standard all I can say is 10/10. Grateful Thanks for your input !

Are they a popular cue in Australia ? they are not high profile in the U.K.

Six of these cues came my way and the first thing I did was to rub one down with abrasive to ensure it was a genuine hand spliced cue and the ebony had not been treated to enhance it in any way.Easy done as there was no varnish to remove and I was satisfied that the cues were all hand spliced to a high standard.Still being wary and not having much experience in this field I sent some photos of the cues to ADR 147 for his opinion and Andrew said if they are fakes they are very good ones which I go with myself. If I was sure they were fake I would would simply remove the nameplates and splice an extra bit on to take a refurbished cue badge and sell them as that. Omin or not these are cues made in my opinion to a high standard and I have done as much as I can to be upfront about them. One thing I noticed was Samling saying that there is also a Chinese Omin which really makes things interesting.

I think they are a known brand here but probably similar profile to what they have in the U.K. Of the four cues I saw the finish on the shaft was very smooth oil and the butt was polished ebony with natural brown/gold streaks that came up nicely so they definitely hadn't been painted or stained. I think these cues are very well presented overall.

Apologies for the awkward wording of my last post, I just wanted to say that the O'min cues I've seen had a pretty good finish IMO. I don't want to take anything away from Andy's work.
