Are you making laminated tips? I experimented with pressing small pieces of leather (single layer) in a vice, left them overnight, and they came out nicely.

Lots of tips come flat now anyway ie kamui tips.
You end up shaping it when fitted anyway.
I understand the purpose for already rounded tips tho.

Always stick me Elks in a vice overnight, saves knocking them in, alternative is Pro Granite tips, glue them on, shape them up and play.

Just thought i,d update as i,ve used the press a good few times , it does a really good job on laminated and pressed tips , the layers on the phoenix tips are deffinitely more compact , i also done a dave coutts tip with good results . The quality is very good so it was well wprth the money .

Sorry Jay missed your post , yes muck one part is domed or they sell the ones for flat tips

do it bit by bit , it all depends how much firmer you would like it , their quite firm to start with .
