  • Split cane cue

    Hi all,
I'm after a bit of help please from all you cue collectors. I was in "Scotties" club, Liverpool last night and was chatting to the owner. His dad (former pro George Scott) was given a prototype split cane snooker cue made by "Thurstons" to try out and give his opinions. The cue was one of only 2 cues of this type they made. I had a few hits with it and it was unique to say the least. It was machine spliced with 6 fingers. 16 1/2 oz and VERY thin from butt to tip. Extremely soft flex and I have to say, a strange experience. The only other one they made is in the museum in Thurstons shop in Liverpool. Has anyone else ever seen one before? I'm going to try and upload some pictures in the next hour or so.

    Fred

It was truly one of the strangest cues I've ever used. I'm sure of one thing though....it's pretty obvious when you've tried it that it was never going to catch on!!!!

I've no idea what's wrong with this computer but I'm struggling to upload the pictures (It's probably me though). If I email the pictures to someone who is a bit more computer literate than me can you post them on this thread please??

        thanks in advance

LOL, I have some pics of me with hair ! Long time ago mind you.

Cue looks well strange ( in a good way ) .

Closest thing to what I was looking for when I speculated about why no 5 or 3 splice cues . .

It might not play well but at least you could go fishing with it.
