Finally found another Sheridan Cue....'The One'???

Well within the last hour I was lucky enough to find this little gem on the much loved ebay and to say I am delighted is an understatement! There must have been all of 5 minutes maximum between the seller listing and me buying

I had my Sheridan cue stolen from my car about 8 years ago and have been seeking a replacement ever since. There are a few differences between this 3/4 cue and the 1 piece that I had but I am hoping that there was something unique to Nick's craftsmanship that will feel familiar in the hand.

This cue is going to get a real good clean up and a refinish when it arrives this week and I will of course share a few pics and let you know how she plays.

Thanks mate. Mine was 8.75mm, I used to have a little overlap on the tip like Darren Morgan did

His name was Nick Reaney and he was a fairly well regarded cuemaker located in the Sheffield area. I believe he became ill and had to give up cuemaking and passed away a few years ago. Claim to fame was making Nigel Bond's cue.......and of course mine!

I have only seen two types of badges of Sheridan cues which is the brass disc type on this cue and a white plastic disc with black script style print that mine had. These would help to date cues but I would be stabbing in the dark when I say that Pre-'92 would be a metal disc and after that the white printed version.

I have searched the Forum to see if anyone else had raised this and found you had one at one point Dean. Did it sell?

Apologies! Ah that is really nice to know, I was just going by what third/fourth/fifth hand information came my way and not being local to that area I wasn't to know any different.

I believe the owner of chestworth cues in Sheffield owns one, I looked at it when I was there, seemed a bit butt heavy to me at a glance. Nice Cue, Cheers
