  • Cue valuation needed

I need a rough estimate as to how much a John Parris paragon cue is worth?
Havent seen it yet but lets say its unaltered and in decent condition.
Just need a rough idea of what they are worth.
    Cheers-Trev.

all in the quality of the cue with these but if plain and average £400 if fancy and superb £700, it will fit somewhere in between.

        got some photos of it
have to say it is absolutely magnificent condition, not so much as a scratch on it
        i would say 9.5mm tip,57inch,approx 18ozs.has a mini butt and a telescopic extension
it is also a red glue model
i know nothing about parris cues so looking for a more accurate valuation.

Only worth what someone is willing to pay !
But if mine i would be putting specs and design into Parris cue builder to see what it comes out at and price accordingly ??

well if it was mine i would be putting it on ebay for a £1000 or best offer minimum, then its worth what someone is willing to pay....

            very nice cue

Not worth 1k. I imagine you could build a very nice ultimate for that. £6-700 i would think.

In my view only Ultimates can command a much higher price than the other Parris range of cues. The paragon and special cues are just made to measure, if someone can identify the difference between the two well you know more about cues than I do and I highly doubt that is the case!

I'd list it on Ebay for £550 and take a near offer on it. Cues are just not really that sought after right now for whatever reason, the market is pretty dead.

With both extensions I think £550 would be a bargain!! don't forget the dreaded waiting time saved
Going by the original post I think maybe he has a chance to buy this cue, and not sell it ?

i think 550 is about right and sell the extensions separately for 50

How much did you get for the old paragon that you got from george31 Andrew ? although that was a couple of years ago so prices have dropped some what.

But this is not a new cue? Surely the fact the cue is used, we don't know what condition its in without seeing it close up, its probably 4 years or older and JP has had 2 price increases in that time, this cue even new back then wouldn't have cost £550 which I think is a very generous offer. You simply can't take an old cue, compare it to todays prices and expect it to hold relevance in todays market, especially given the quality of competition around.

Well assuming the cue is in great condition, (which he does say it is !) then the age of the cue is irrelevant, in fact the older the cue probably the better. If people have to pay over £700 new, but have to wait for more than a year to get one, then i think you could easily get somewhere very close

Thanks for the replys guys.Yes i do have a chance of buying it.
I will only buy it to re sell cos it isnt suitable for me.
And it is in immaculate condition.
I agree with jrc the older the cue the better.
