          The Riley Special Club.
          Description from 1961 catalogue:
"Hardwood butted, veneer and fancy splice, perfect balance and feel"
Yours for £2 12s 6d (whatever that means).

I'd guess these were made for EJ Riley by Peradon, they were part of the "stock range" of cues.

Thanks for the info. Turns out this cue is nearly 3x as old as me.

            Shame it's condition is shocking!

If you've got the time, it might polish up OK, its doesn't have much/any commerical value so would make a nice project.

                Any recommendations where to start?

I have only really ever taken to a cue with wire wool, fine grade glass paper and linseed oil.

Although I have recently ordered some coutts cue oil.

                  I would start with straightening

It is actually straight as a die.

The dark ash is also quite appealing IMO.

Would make a decent 8ball pool cue

Argh bonus, looks bent in the photo to me but you have it to sight down.

How much did you pay for it?
